Music is an expression of the human experience, and social justice movements, religious or otherwise have embraced the power of song for hundreds of years. After we look at the evolution of the art form, we will listen to and examine the voice of modern justice and protest songs covering a wide range of topics, including Black Lives Matter, Gay Rights the Environment, among others. Some even protesting the protesters.

Stephen Jeffus and Elena Jeffus have been members of Northpark Presbyterian for 15 years, and FoT groupies from the start. Stephen grew up in a church of “don’ts” and was elated to be introduced to a church that does. Elena, who takes credit for that introduction, is a long time listener first time presenter. She has a passion for live music and Michael Franti.
