We’ve already talked about statistics and answered the question: should people of faith be talking about sex? The overwhelming answer is yes! Now we’re left with the question of how. How are people of faith supposed to address sexuality with their peers and young persons? There is so much out there that can be harmful, so how do we avoid screwing it up?
Sexuality is a vital facet of life for every person, but so often mainline Christianity isn’t equipped to deal with it. Instead of avoiding the topic or dictating rules, it’s time we talk about the practicality of teaching healthy, medically accurate, and theologically sound sexual education in our faith communities. The emotional and physical well being of our young people depends on it.
